The Opportunity

This is a wonderful opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional to join an industry leading organisation embarking on an accelerated growth trajectory. The senior leadership team are passionate and ambitious about the organisation’s potential to significantly grow in the coming years. 

Joining a close knit finance team the Senior Management Accountant will assist the Head of Finance in a broad role. This will include the timely and accurate closing of the month end, business partnering, costing and modelling  commercial business cases. The suitable candidate might have started in business services and have already made their first move into an industry role, or you might have demonstrated industry experience in a similar environment. 

The Challenge

Reporting into the Head of Finance, your key responsibilities will include:

• Complete the end-to-end monthly reporting process in a timely and accurate manner 
• Assist with the maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register, Capital Projects and Capital related reporting
• Prepare the monthly BAS as well as annual tax and FBT returns.
• Monthly reconciliation of account balances and prompt follow-up of discrepancies
• Assist with annual audit and financial statements preparation
• Undertake continuous improvement opportunities in systems, procedures and processes. 
• Assist the Head of Finance with management reporting and FP&A activities.  

The Expertise

To be considered for this opportunity it is likely you will possess the following:

• CA/CPA qualified
• Minimum 5 years in a relevant finance role 
• Exposure to some tax effect accounting will be viewed upon favourably 
• Experience in a product based environment (retail/wholesale/manufacturing etc) will be looked upon favourably
• High achievement drive with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 
• Continuous improvement mindset, willingness to question the status quo and set up new processes.
