The opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a growing, PE backed organisation operating in the allied health sector. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong compliance and effective financial governance across the group.
This role offers ownership of core accounting processes, exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a high-performing finance function.
The Role
Reporting into the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading the month-end close process in line with reporting timetables
- Managing journals, general ledger integrity and balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing monthly management reporting, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements
- Analysing financial performance, variances and providing insights to senior stakeholders
- Supporting the year-end audit process and responding to auditor queries
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal control frameworks
- Managing indirect tax compliance, including BAS and FBT
- Maintaining fixed asset registers, depreciation schedules and lease accounting
- Preparing industry and funding-related reporting, including quarterly and annual submissions
- Partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve financial processes, systems and control
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting capabilities
- A background in health care or aged care will be highly regarded
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
- The ability to balance compliance requirements with commercial outcomes
