The Opportunity

Our client is quickly becoming a leader in their industry and is undertaking an aggressive expansion strategy by continual acquisition. They are growing, profitable and have a Melbourne head office.

Focused on continual improvement and best practice, this position will play a key role managing the financial reporting function working closely with the Finance Manager. You will also have broad exposure to the budgeting and forecasting process of head office. 

This role will suit either a part CA making a first move from an Audit or Business Services firm or an Assistant Accountant currently working in a large, complex business.

The Challenge

Reporting into the Finance Manager and working with a number of stakeholders internally, the role will include but not limited to:

Specifically your responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing half-year and year-end statutory accounts including Group consolidation
• Assist with the month-end process with a focus on Head Office departments and labour costs.
• Preparation of management reporting and analysis of Head Office costs, including identifying and explaining causes of variances to budget.
• Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including investigation of material reconciling items
• To work as part of the Financial Accounting team to assist with preparation of monthly board reporting and annual financial reports
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process. 
• Assist Financial Reporting Manager in being key contact for co-ordination of the audit process, including responding to queries as and when they arise.
