The Opportunity
Our client is a recognised Australian business who operates as a speciality distributor to companies throughout the country. They are regarded as a market leader within their sector who offer a unique product range. With their continued growth and popularity, they are seeking a motivated individual to join the team working as an Assistant Accountant.
The role will assist with the accurate processing and management of the Accounts Payable function, including the implementation of an automation tool, while supporting through the month-end process, banking and tax compliance. This provides a great opportunity to work closely with the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in a collaborative environment. They have a history career progression and supporting their employees to expand and grow their skills.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Finance Manager your responsibilities will include”
- Assisting with the preparation of month-end and year-end reporting
- Completion of accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, in particular payment runs and month-end reporting
- Timely reconciliations of GST accounts, credit facilities and other bank accounts
- Daily and weekly cash flow reporting
- Assisting with the completion of statutory requirements
- Maintaining leasing schedules and files
- Assisting the Senior Accountant with budgeting and the preparation of annual financial statements and reconciliations
- Maintenance of financial and accounting records and systems
- Providing overall administrative support and reporting assistance to the Senior Accountant and broader team
The Expertise
Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:
- Circa 2 years of experience working in a similar account’s role
- You will ideally be working towards you CPA or CA qualification, or are looking to start your studies in the short term
- Intermediate experience working with accounting systems in a growing business
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with all levels of stakeholders and customers
- Flexible attitude and willingness to contribute to a small office environment
- Ability to work 5 days in the office
